Applications are online for Festa vendors

The weather outside might be frightful, but the UVA is on fire making plans for the 8th annual Festa Italiana on Taylor Street. Josie Falbo, a Little Italy native from Bishop Street, will kick off the festivities on opening night, Thursday, Aug. 14. 


New information regarding all things Festa will be posted when they are available. Please keep checking back here so that you will not miss any of the enjoyment the Festa will offer. Great food, great entertainment and great fun at the Chicago area's largest Italian-themed festival will make the Festa a high point of summer 2014.

Josie Falbo to open Festa Italiana 2014

The first confirmed entertainer for Festa Italiana 2014 is Josie Falbo. Josie is and has been one of Chicago's busiest and most frequently heard studio singers in Chicago for over 40 years.


Heard on over 1,000 commercials in various languages through the decades, many you know like McDonald's, United, Nationwide, Midway Airlines, Great America, Green Giant, Oscar Meyer, Budweiser, Old Style, Sara Lee, Coke and countless others. Josie was also the voice behind the 'Cruisin' USA' arcade game.


With hit records behind her, countless awards including runner up for Billboard's song of the year with Love Found Me (Just In Time) in 1991. Josie's talents have been utilized by so many and heard on all seven continents, yes, even Antarctica!


Josie's singing career began singing in Italian and English when she was 19 months old! Josie had won voice scholarships in both high school and college, performed solo at the Lyric Opera House using her multi-range voice in both the classical and pop idioms. Vocally she can deliver the Gospel power of Mahalia Jackson, rock as hard as Pat Benatar, Be-Bop with the best of 'em or perform today's contemporary hits with a style and sound that will amaze and impress any audience.
